Lately, I’ve found myself reflecting deeply on the political landscape of our nation. It’s hard to escape the feeling that we are witnessing some troubling times. As an engaged citizen, I can’t help but feel a sense of urgency. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck, and I’m shouting, hoping someone will pull the emergency brake. The actions and rhetoric from some political figures echo the oppressive tactics of fascist regimes from Europe’s dark past. The parallels are eerie, and that historical context weighs heavily on my mind.

It feels much like the way marginalized voices were silenced and demonized during those dark chapters in history that we thought were long behind us.

It’s incredibly frustrating to see how the Political Left has often responded or, quite frankly, failed to respond. There’s a sense of weakness and indecision that feels unacceptable in the face of such blatant hostility. Are we going to be a nation of brave defenders of rights, or will we cower in the face of tyranny?

I recognize that change often feels like swimming upstream, but we cannot simply turn a blind eye and hope this all passes. We must stir our courage, stand together, and advocate fiercely for the rights of every individual, especially those who’ve historically faced oppression.
